The question everyone asks about white silk: will it stay white? With the right detergent, yes — and the detergent is nearly the whole story.
Ordinary detergents contain optical brighteners and enzymes that damage silk fibres and cause yellowing over time. Use a proper silk washing detergent — we recommend Ecover Wool & Silk — wash on a cool delicates programme, and dry out of direct sunlight. Do that, and a machine wash is absolutely fine.
